I am an on-location photographer. So, when you book a session with me I come to you or we meet at an agreed location. I prefer to work with natural light, but I do have the ability to use artificial lighting as well. When I am hired to photograph a newborn session, I prefer to do so in the baby’s surroundings. What would make a better back drop for a newborn or baby session than the child’s own room or home?! There are other photographers that are excellent and create gorgeous images in a studio however, I like to use your home, your furniture, your decor to add that special touch to your images. To me the images that you will cherish longer and that will have more meaning to you over time are going to be those that are in a location that you associate certain emotions with.
I remember when we sold our first home, the one that we had since we were newly weds and the same one we brought our first baby home to. It was a horribly emotional move for me, there were so many memories there… however, I knew that I had done my job in recording our lives and our first home. I now have those images to reflect back on and they always make me happy, especially the ones of my daughter in her first nursery (the one we took months to design and put every detail in)!
