Sleepy Smiles… houston newborn photographer

Illuminated… Photography Mentoring

I recently wrote a breakout session or mini workshop for Clickin Moms; Illuminated | Backlighting with Vision… you can find it here if you are interested in learning more. So far the reviews have been amazing and I am so thankful for the many photographers that have joined me in this workshop. While I have been a mentor on Clickin Moms for about eight months now, I have also been doing a little big of planning here to do more mentoring in person for photographers. It’s been something that I have wanted to do for a while and I’ve been working on the logistics of it I suppose for about six months. So, without further adieu I’d like to announce my newest venture in the photography world… Illuminated.

Photography is so much about light, the study of how it interacts with its surroundings but even more so the light that you find within your work that speaks to you and speaks to those who see it. I love being able to help others down that path and I have been doing online mentoring for quite some time now and I’m absolutely thrilled to be able to now introduce in person photography mentoring. From those that are just starting out to photographers who have already started their path in photography I have created an experience to help you dig into who YOU are as an artist, as a photographer, and as a business owner. Each mentoring session is completely unique to YOU. Since photography isn’t a one-size-fits-all, why should your mentoring session be? Many of the photographers I have already worked with say that I am an open book and very giving with my knowledge, so I want to take that and then help you mold it to fit you and your style, both in photography and even in your business.

Bluebonnet Mini Sessions… Houston and Austin Photographer

It’s time!!!! The bluebonnets will be here soon and I have made arrangements to shoot at THE most beautiful location. It is between Houston and Austin Texas, so if you are in Houston or Austin you can join us! This year we will be photographing on March 27th at the Belle of Roundtop…

There will be six mini sessions and the possibility to have one full session on March 28th with sunrise. I was lucky enough to go to the Belle a couple years ago for a photography workshop with the Amazing Barb Uil and I have been dying to go back to do bluebonnet photos here. So, I know it’s a drive and I know that it’s mid week… but it’s soooooo going to be worth it! If you are interested in snagging up a session, let me know. Last year my sessions were sold out with 24 hours of posting. This year will not disappoint and I have lots of awesome plans up my sleeves for these! Come join us!

Last minute… Houston Photography Classes

Coming in March 2013, I will be teaching a newly structured class at my studio for parents that are wanting to take their camera out of auto and into manual to get better photos of their children or even grand babies. It will be similar to my one-day class however, it will be spread out for a month. We will meet once a week for two hours and there will also be assignments that are given and covered the next class meeting. During the course of the class the students will learn how to take their camera out of auto mode and use the manual settings such as ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed to achieve the proper exposure for many different lighting situations. We will, on one day, also have a model to practice on. The class includes a workbook as well as lots of hands on practice and assignments that will compliment each lesson. Once the class has completed you will also have access to the facebook group for continued learning.

After this course has completed, I will also be adding on photoshop and lightroom courses for post processing techniques as well as more intermediate classes for those who want to take their skills to the next level. Over the summer… there will be a really fun photography camp for middle school to high school aged students! For more information please send me an email at jennifer@jenniferdellphotography.com . Oh boy, the cuteness… houston family photographer

I got to meet these adorable little boys for the first time when they came by the studio with their parents for a consultation and I was so excited when they booked their session because that meant I got to see their adorable little faces again!!! Seriously look at those sweet baby cheeks!!! How could I not be thrilled to get to work with them!? hehe! The R family was so sweet and wonderful to work with… Before the session, Mrs. R and I spoke a few times to coordinate their clothes and she asked if we could incorporate a sting telephone which of course I loved! Here is their session, I hope you all enjoy it!

**Quick announcements**

1. Weekends are completely booked for 2012… though I do have 1 simplicity session (a mini session) available for a weekday next month.
2. There are only three spots left in my photography class on November 10th, please call/email if you would like one of the last spots!
3. I am planning beach sessions for the week/weekend of April 11th-14th, one has already been booked. If you are interested please call or email me to get on the list!

Fall is here are you ready for the Holidays… houston photography classes

Eek! Today is October 1st which means, to me, that it’s officially fall!!! My absolute most favorite time of year! I had quite a few emails recently requesting one more class for the year… so I decided that on November 10th I would hold one final class for 2012. Just in time to learn your camera to get those awesome shots of your children, family and friends over the Holidays. This time we also have some goodies provided by Clickinmoms! Don’t wait to reserve your seats, I’ve already filled three out of the twelve and I just announced it on Facebook last friday…

Beach Sessions… houston family photographer

I decided to offer a few sessions in Galveston in September. One session is already booked, but I do have one full session and two mini sessions still available. Since I don’t traditionally offer mini sessions during the fall this might be a fun way to get one and still have photos for Holiday cards!

A few months ago, I received an email from Professional Photographer Magazine… they had run across some of my baby photography and wanted to interview me and write an article for their magazine! I, of course, was incredibly excited and honored that they wanted to feature me. I have been reading this magazine for years now and to be included in not one, but two articles in their August issue was so exciting. I didn’t tell anyone, other than my family, until it was published recently, it was so hard to keep it a secret! Here are a few images from the magazine. I just received it in print last week and it is really way too cool… If you want to read the article pick up a copy or come by the studio anytime I have one up there now!
